Full Job Description

This role is fundamental in supporting the audit and maintenance of Kent's 500,000 plus highway trees. Working with a diverse tree demographic this role will allow the post holder to directly influence and shape the future treescape of Kent through our ongoing maintenance programs and urban tree planting schemes.

The role of Tree Inspector will cover all aspects of highway tree management, including surveying highway trees, detailing maintenance works, scheduling of programmed maintenance, supervision of arboricultural contractors, specifying and overseeing the planting of new trees, and providing excellent customer service., This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

You will have a strong background in either technical or practical arboriculture and experience of applying this knowledge in a diverse range of situations, you may also have experience within a Local Authority environment.

This is a full-time permanent post (37 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
