Full Job Description
The Travel Plan Coordinator plays a key operational and strategic role within the Estates and Facilities Division, leading the Trust's travel, transport and parking functions across all sites. The post holder is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the Trust's Sustainable Travel Plan, ensuring that travel and parking arrangements support safe, equitable and efficient access to healthcare services for patients, staff and visitors. The role provides specialistexpertise in sustainable travel, transport planning, car parking management and carbon-reduction initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Trust's Green Plan, HTM 07:03 NHS Car Parking Management and the NHS England Net Zero Travel and Transport Strategy. The post holder will lead the operational management of travel systems-including ANPR, digital permitting platforms and travel planning tools-ensuring accuracy, compliance and high-quality service delivery. Working across multiple hospital sites, the Travel Plan Coordinator will conduct regular inspections of travel infrastructure, oversee concessionary parking arrangements, analyse complex travel and carbon-related data, and lead projects that improve sustainable travel options and reduce travel-related emissions.
- Lead the delivery of the Trust'sSustainable Travel Planand support Net Zero travel and transport objectives.
- Managetravel, transport and parking operationsacross all Trust sites, including ANPR systems and digital permit platforms.
- Conduct regularsite inspectionsto ensure safe, accessible and compliant travel infrastructure.
- Overseeconcessionary parkingand ensure fair, transparent processes for patients and visitors.
- Analysetravel, parking and carbon-related datato support planning, reporting and service improvements.
- Develop and deliversustainable travel projects, including active travel initiatives and inter-site travel solutions.
- Provide expert advice onsustainable transport, representing the Trust with internal teams and external partners.
- Lead stafftraining, communications and engagementon travel systems and sustainable travel options.
- Ensure compliance withHTM 07:03, information governance standards and Net Zero reporting requirements.
- Support policy development and continuous improvement oftravel, parking and carbon-reductioninitiatives. Priority will be given to colleagues identified as at risk through the Trust's redeployment process.
