We're looking for a Transport Planner to join our team in Snetterton. Working within a small team, you will be driving efficiency and reducing cost while delivering excellent service to our customer. You'll be responsible for route planning, along with developing & managing real relationships with customers and drivers. You'll ensure that our transport department always runs in an efficient and effective manner.

You will work on a Monday - Friday basis, between 8 am to 5 pm; however, some flexibility is required.

What You'll Do on a Typical Day

• Provide final route plans to the warehouse operation within the agreed timescale to allow for picking in a timely manner


• Ensure that the legislation regarding EU Drivers hours regulations is being followed


• Deal with customer issues and monitor drivers' daily progress, updating the customer as required


• Ensure that the sub-contractor costs are in line with our agreed rates, ensuring the maximum benefit is being secured and that any subcontractor financial queries are resolved in a timely manner

Requirements

• Experience of working as a Transport Planner or similar operational role, performing route planning with strong geographical knowledge of the UK


• Knowledge of WTD regulations is essential


• Proficient use of Microsoft and experience of using a transport planning tool


• Strong communicator both written and verbal with attention to detail
