Transport Planner

What does the role involve? To deliver products to our customers in an efficient, safe and timely managed schedule; to be the friendly and helpful face of our company once at customer's site. To cover for the transport manager when they are away from the business. What you will be doing:

• Deliver products to customer sites/premises
• Unload products and ensure paperwork is completed correctly and accurately by both yourself and customer
• Perform daily safety checks
• Keep transport documents and paperwork updated
• Maintain good care of your vehicle, by following companies regulations
• Carry out other duties within yard/warehouse as and when needed
• Work in a manner which ensures the safety of self and colleagues
• Cover for the transport manager when they are away from the business
• Make decisions in the transport managers absence
• Coordinate with external transport company's
• Supervise the loading and unloading of vehicles
• Ensure all other drivers are following health and safety procedures and processes
• Any other reasonable duties within the individuals capabilities
• Driving record, both vehicle and forklift where required
• Responsible for deliveries adhering to health and safety regulations
• Ensuring customers are satisfied with delivery schedule
• Loading errors and breakages
What you'll bring:
• Driving Licence with less than 6 points
• Basic numeracy and IT skills
• Knowledge of basic health and safety requirements (preferable)
