This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, combining transport planning, compliance, and customer interaction within a busy, fast-paced environment. The Role You ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of transport operations, working closely with the Depot Manager. Responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and planning multi-drop deliveries to customers
- Maximising route efficiency through strong geographical knowledge
- Managing vehicle maintenance schedules and bookings
- Monitoring driver compliance, including tachograph downloads and records
- Ensuring adherence to driving hours regulations and Working Time Directive
- Supporting the wider team with customer interaction, including answering calls and assisting at the trade counter This is a hands-on position where no two days are the same, offering exposure to both operational and customer-facing aspects of the business.
- Previous experience within a busy transport or logistics environment
- CPC qualification and strong tachograph knowledge (essential)
- A solid understanding of driver compliance, WTD, and transport regulations
- Experience within a builders merchants, construction supply, or similar environment (highly desirable)
- Confidence dealing with customers both over the phone and face-to-face
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced setting
- A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to support across the team
Salary: £34,000 £38,000 (depending on experience) - Full-time, permanent position
