Full Job Description

We are looking for a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist (BMS) or Clinical Scientist (CS) with an interest and experience in education and training to join our dynamic transfusion education team. The successful candidate will be required to support the Scientific and Education Qualifications Lead (SEQL) in the delivery of education, training and formal qualifications undertaken by transfusion laboratory staff. This post is a fixed term/secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service. Main duties of the job Key aspects of this role include: Support the SEQL with the educational requirements of the WBS transfusion laboratories.   • HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist or Clinical Scientist
  • Specialist knowledge in Transfusion Science e.g. IBMS Specialist portfolio or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of participation in a CPD scheme
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements including GPG, MHRA, UKAS etc
  • Desirable
  • Willing to undertake a Training qualification e.g. Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or equivalent
  • Coaching/mentoring qualification
  • Higher qualification in Transfusion Science e.g. MSc, FIBMS, STP or equivalent experience
  • Experience Essential
  • Experience in the requirements of HCPC/IBMS registration process
  • Knowledge and proven experience of co-ordinating and facilitating internal and external training events and meetings
  • Experience at developing and delivering training interventions to a wide variety of audiences
  • Experience of auditing procedures and developing competency assessments
  • Desirable
  • Experience of completion of IT platforms to manage and progress training qualifications, Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral format to all grades of staff
  • Coaching, mentoring and feedback skills.
  • Understanding of the principles and methodologies of skills training and evaluation processes
  • Strong ability to analyse problems and suggest improvements
