Transfusion Laboratories Education Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Transfusion Laboratory Services department at the Welsh Blood Service for the role of Scientific Education Officer.

We are looking for a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist (BMS) or Clinical Scientist (CS) with an interest and experience in education and training to join our dynamic transfusion education team.

The successful candidate will be required to support the Scientific and Education Qualifications Lead (SEQL) in the delivery of education, training and formal qualifications undertaken by transfusion laboratory staff., Key aspects of this role include:

Support the SEQL with the educational requirements of the WBS transfusion laboratories. This will include delivery of a range scientific and support qualifications to develop an educated and self-motivated workforce

Support the delivery of a training and competency based programme for use within the transfusion labs

Work with the SEQL to provide a programme for placement students.

Promotion of the WBS via the medium of education both internally and with outside partnerships.
