Full Job Description
As a Detective Constable with BTP, you will investigate serious and complex crimes across Britain's railway network, protecting passengers, supporting victims, pursuing offenders and helping to keep the country moving safely. BTP polices and protects over 10,000 miles of track and 3,000 railway stations every day. Our network sits at the heart of Britain's communities, commerce and industry, creating unique investigative opportunities and challenges that you will not find in any other police force. Our CID officers conduct proactive and reactive investigations into crimes committed across the rail network, ensuring that all available evidence is secured and that investigations are completed to the highest professional standards. - Be a current or former officer from a Home Office Police Force, Police Scotland or the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI)
- Be substantive in rank and have successfully completed probation (Transferees)
- Have previously been substantive in rank and be applying within five years of leaving policing (Re-Joiners)
- Have lived in the UK for the previous three consecutive years
- Not be subject to a live misconduct sanction or performance process
- Not be under investigation by another police force
- Not have active County Court Judgments (CCJs), unmanaged Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs) or be bankrupt
- Not have been dismissed from a police force
- Not have been refused police vetting by BTP or another UK police force within the previous two years, You have already developed the skills to protect the public, pursue justice and support victims.
