If so, we'd love to hear from you! This post is within the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) Finance team reporting to the Finance and Compliance Manager. The role holder will manage and support the delivery of the Purchase 2 Pay (P2P) and Order 2 Cash (O2C) teams and lead on General Ledger (GL) functions. The role will also support financial and tax compliance matters. The role holder is a subject matter expert for Unity Shared Services. Joining our department comes with many benefits, including:

Find out more about what it's like working at Maritime and Coastguard Agency - Department for Transport Careers The role will require the post-holder to build strong relationships with local finance contacts and operational areas, develop an understanding of the business to ensure financial processes are fit for purpose and deliver agreed outcomes. The post-holder will have a key role to play in supporting the delivery of a range of initiatives that in turn support the organisation in delivering its objectives. The role will support business units and other finance colleagues to ensure Financial Operations can effectively underpin informed decision making and problem solving. The post is responsible for delivery, processes, controls, and compliance of P2P/O2C/GL activity. The postholder will act as a liaison between the MCA and Shared Service provider and provide effective and inspiring leadership and coaching to the transaction team to ensure continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include, but aren't limited to:
- Supporting the provision of transactional processing services as outlined below.
- Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of data in the finance system.
- Subject matter expert in own work area, providing advice to the MCA on financial processes.
- Promote a culture of excellent customer service whilst managing appropriate HM Treasury, Cabinet Office, Department for Transport (DfT) & MCA controls and procedures.
- Monitor performance against government and internal service level agreements and targets.
