Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Training Programme Coordinator to join Oxford Cancer, a city-wide research initiative and partnership between Oxford University, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, Thames Valley Cancer Alliance, and the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group. This post is responsible for the coordination and delivery of key elements of Oxford Cancer's training programmes, including internships, clinical postdoctoral training, outcomes monitoring and post-graduation engagement. This post will be overseen by the Senior Programmes Manager for Training, EDI and PPI, and will work closely with the Training Programme Project Coordinator. It will contribute to the effective delivery of Oxford Cancer's Training Strategy to educate and train the translational cancer researchers of tomorrow and maximise the impact of Oxford research in the global fight against cancer. This post is based at the Churchill Hospital, OX3 7LE and is offered on a full-time fixed term basis until 31st December 2027 (part-time hours, minimum 0.8 FTE worked over no fewer than 4 days, may be considered). An early start date is essential for this role.
You will have demonstrable experience of coordinating administrative processes associated with the establishment, management and delivery of training programmes in an academic environment, and experience of working in a medical or life sciences research and training organisation. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with academics, clinicians and external partners. You will be experienced in organising and prioritising your own workload, managing multiple activities and working to deadlines, and working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. You will also have experience of events organisation and management, and of collecting, managing or analysing data to support monitoring, reporting or decision-making. You will have strong attention to detail, good IT skills (including Microsoft Office), and experience of handling sensitive and confidential information with tact and discretion.
As an employer, we genuinely care about our employees' wellbeing and this is reflected in the range of benefits that we offer including:
- An excellent contributory pension scheme
- 38 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays (pro rata for part time)
- A comprehensive range of childcare services

- Cycle loan scheme
- Discounted bus travel and Season Ticket travel loans
- Membership to a variety of social and sports clubs
