Full Job Description
The Training & Practice Development Manager is a senior role within the Quality & Governance Directorate, responsible for leading the Group's training and practice development function and ensuring that every member of staff across Healthcare Ireland's homes has the knowledge, skills, and competence to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care. Reporting to the Quality & Governance Director and managing a team of four Training Facilitators, the postholder combines strategic leadership of the training function with a substantial personal training and practice development workload - designing, developing, and delivering training themselves as well as leading the team.
This is a hands-on leadership role. The Training & Practice Development Manager is expected to be an active, visible, and credible training practitioner. They will design and deliver mandatory and specialist training programmes, develop training resources and competency frameworks, work closely with the Quality Improvement team to address practice gaps identified in homes, and ensure that the Group's training offer is consistently excellent, evidenced-based, and aligned to the regulatory standards that Healthcare Ireland's homes are assessed against. Working in close partnership with the People Director, the postholder also ensures that training and workforce development activity is joined up with the wider people agenda across the Group.
