Training officer

As a Road Safety Education and Training Officer you will:

• deliver road safety education sessions within schools and colleges in Staffordshire & Stoke on Trent through key stages 1-5.
• work closely with your colleagues to plan, develop and review resources and sessions delivered in schools.
• ensure that resources and sessions are targeted, relevant and align with national and local guidelines through monitoring and evaluation.
• develop and deliver road safety education, training and engagement initiatives targeted at other priority road users as directed by the Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership.
  
  You will:
• Have experience in an education or training environment, preferably working with key stage 3-5, with the skills and confidence to deliver educational materials to a wide variety of audiences including children and young people.
• be an excellent team player working alongside other professionals to plan, develop, deliver, and assess a wide programme of initiatives ensuring relevance and effectiveness.
• be passionate about road safety and dedicated to the partnership aims of reducing death and injury on our roads with a keenness to develop a wide understanding of road risk and road safety educational techniques.
• build excellent working relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders.
• enjoy the responsibility and ownership for the continued provision and development of current schemes and be flexible and adaptive to the continued development and innovation of new initiatives.

This exciting role is funded by the Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership, which seeks to achieve a long-term, sustained reduction in personal injury collisions. The post sits within a team of education and training professionals who develop and deliver road safety resources to schools and colleges, and organise training and engagement interventions for a wide range of priority road user groups.
