Full Job Description

As a Road Safety Education and Training Officer you will:

  • deliver road safety education sessions within schools and colleges in Staffordshire & Stoke on Trent through key stages 1-5.
  • work closely with your colleagues to plan, develop and review resources and sessions delivered in schools.
  • ensure that resources and sessions are targeted, relevant and align with national and local guidelines through monitoring and evaluation.
  • develop and deliver road safety education, training and engagement initiatives targeted at other priority road users as directed by the Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership.

    You will:
  • Have experience in an education or training environment, preferably working with key stage 3-5, with the skills and confidence to deliver educational materials to a wide variety of audiences including children and young people.
  • be an excellent team player working alongside other professionals to plan, develop, deliver, and assess a wide programme of initiatives ensuring relevance and effectiveness.
  • be passionate about road safety and dedicated to the partnership aims of reducing death and injury on our roads with a keenness to develop a wide understanding of road risk and road safety educational techniques.
  • build excellent working relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders.
  • enjoy the responsibility and ownership for the continued provision and development of current schemes and be flexible and adaptive to the continued development and innovation of new initiatives.

  • This exciting role is funded by the Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership, which seeks to achieve a long-term, sustained reduction in personal injury collisions. The post sits within a team of education and training professionals who develop and deliver road safety resources to schools and colleges, and organise training and engagement interventions for a wide range of priority road user groups.
