This is a senior role with departmental-level responsibility, focused on delivering high-quality, accredited education that meets Signature standards and supports positive learner outcomes.
You will manage the day-to-day operations of the training department, lead and develop a team of BSL tutors (including trainees and apprentices where applicable), and ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment across all programmes.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of British Sign Language and Deaf Awareness courses across all levels, including the integration of e-Learning within a blended learning model.

· Lead and manage the training department, including line management, supervision, and development of tutors.
· Oversee curriculum design, development, and review to ensure compliance with awarding body and accreditation requirements.
· Monitor and improve teaching quality through observations, learner feedback, performance data, and quality assurance processes.
· Lead internal quality assurance activity and coordinate external quality assurance (EQA) visits.
· Oversee learner journey from enrolment and induction through to achievement and progression.
You will have strong leadership and organisational skills, experience managing teaching staff, and a sound understanding of BSL education and Deaf Awareness training. You will be quality-focused, collaborative, and confident working with internal and external partners to support service delivery and development.
Experience with accredited provision, quality assurance processes, and safeguarding in an education or training environment is essential.
As a Deaf charity, we welcome applicants from Deaf or Hard of Hearing applicants. We are seeking applicants who can communicate using British Sign language (BSL).
