Full Job Description
Job PurposeTo support the delivery of aviation security training and maintain compliance with UK aviation security regulations, airport operating procedures, and company standards. The role is responsible for mentoring security agents, monitoring operational performance, identifying training needs, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
This is a full-time role and hours/working days will be discussed with the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
-Deliver practical coaching and mentoring to all Aviation Security personnel
-Conduct on-the-job training (OJT) and competency assessments.
-Support new starters through induction, mentoring, and competency sign-off.
-Identify training gaps and implement corrective actions.
-Provide constructive feedback and produce performance improvement plans where required.
-Assist with preparing for CAA and internal audits.
-Deliver toolbox talks, briefings, and refresher training.
-Promote best practice in staff / passenger screening, access control, hold baggage screening, and staff search procedures.
-Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are consistently followed.
-Investigate compliance failures and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
-Work closely with operational managers and stakeholders to improve security performance.
Experience working within Aviation Security.
- Hold a valid GSO/GSS certification
-Strong knowledge of UK aviation security regulations.
-Experience in training, coaching, and mentoring.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Strong report-writing skills.
Desirable:
-Level 3 Award (or above) in Education and Training (AET), or equivalent.
-Knowledge of Threat Image Projection (TIP), X-ray image interpretation, and covert testing.
-Airport Driving Permit.
