Full Job Description
- Well Supported School-Based Training: You will spend most of your training time in one dedicated host school, giving you immediate opportunities to practise theory in a classroom environment
- Dedicated 1:1 Mentoring: You will be matched with an experienced teacher who will serve as your dedicated mentor. They provide weekly one-to-one guidance supporting your development every step of the way.
- Work-Life Balance Built-In: We know that work-life balance is important, so our Teacher Training is designed to build your confidence in the classroom and respect your need for a life away from work.
- Leading Educational Theory: Our partnership with Teach First ensures your training is underpinned by the latest educational research, delivered through a combination of engaging face-to-face sessions and theoretical study on our online learning portal.
- Additional Support: You will receive additional support from an experienced central team of lead mentors and training facilitators who will get to know you and be able to support you every step of the way. We really value the deep research and educational theory that underpins Ambition Institute's programmes and this, coupled with our years of experience successfully delivering initial teacher training, makes for a strong partnership that benefits all. What & How Will I Learn? (Professional Development) You will achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through a combination of self-guided learning plus face-to-face and online sessions with other trainees, ensuring both theory and practice are integrated:
- In-School Practice: Classroom teaching practice, peer support, and weekly 1:1 guidance from your mentor.
- Focused Topic Weeks: Dive deeper into complex areas of teaching with the support of additional experts in education.
- Broad Experience: Additional placement days outside of your host school to experience the breadth of the English education system.
You are the perfect fit for starting your career in primary teaching with us if you have: - A degree in any subject.
- GCSE Maths, English and Science at Grade C/4 or above, or an equivalent qualification.
- A genuine passion for teaching, a drive to inspire and motivate students, and the ability to act as a positive role model.
We work in partnership with The Sigma Trust and trusted national teacher training provider Teach First to deliver expert, evidence-led teacher training that is local to you and designed for success.
