Full Job Description

You will work closely with experienced editors who will help you develop as a reporter. You should be willing to take pictures where circumstances allow. Ideally you will have at least 60wpm shorthand or be willing to learn it - very quickly.

Do you want a career working for the national newspapers or the Press Association? That's where all our reporters seem to go - and now I've got to write yet another advert to replace yet someone else who did exactly that.

Central News is looking for trainees with a bit of shorthand and a lot of attitude to help us cover London's crown courts and tribunals. This is not a rewriting job - it's about using your initiative to work on some of the biggest stories of the day for national newspapers.

The position is full-time and it is a real court journalism job so working from home is not an option.

This role pays £24,000pa.
