Full Job Description
We currently have vacancies for Trainees PWP's to work in the Steps 2 Wellbeing Team within Rural Dorset (this area is split into 4 different localities, Mid/West Dorset, Weymouth & Portland, North Dorset and Purbeck/East Dorset). This is an excellent opportunity for people with the appropriate skills to join a highly motivated and committed team.
Steps 2 Wellbeing is a busy, dynamic and progressive service with a friendly and supportive team of qualified clinicians and staff in training.
The role itself is both demanding and rewarding; providing psychological interventions to people with mild to moderate common mental health problems in primary care. We are looking for people with enthusiasm and passion to join our service. Good administrative, time management and communication skills are also essential. Experience of working within mental health, the NHS service or similar organisation is highly desirable., You will undertake academic training provided and accredited by the University of Exeter. During the training year, your time will be split between university study and working within the service as a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP).
The training programme includes learning how to complete person-centred assessments, as well as developing skills in delivering CBT-based Guided Self-Help interventions for individuals experiencing symptoms of mild to moderate depression and/or anxiety disorders, including Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
University study is delivered using a hybrid learning model, combining online learning with scheduled face-to-face teaching days.
Trainee PWPs will also work on a hybrid basis within the service, with a minimum of two days per week spent delivering face-to-face interventions, and remaining days worked remotely.
All Trainee PWPs will receive intensive supervision and workplace support as an integral part of their training.
This is a full-time post. Unfortunately Part-time applications cannot be considered due to university commitments.
