Trainee Infection Prevention & Control Nurse / Practitioner

Are you enthusiastic about Infection Prevention and Control? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5/6 Nurse or Practitioner to join the IPC Team here at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.

The role includes assisting in the surveillance and investigation of healthcare-associated infections, providing education and training on infection control topics, providing advice for the management of patients with alert organisms and working towards IPC competencies to take this role to the next level in which you would be responsible for additional tasks such as managing outbreaks and infection control emergencies, as well as line management., This diverse role would see the successful applicant providing clinical advice for colleagues, patients and carers/relatives as well as supporting staff to maintain the highest standards of infection prevention and control.

The applicant should preferably have experience of being an IPC link nurse and/or show an understanding in infection prevention. They must also be able to demonstrate a passion for protecting patients from preventable infections and have demonstrable leadership qualities which support them to act as a positive role model and inspire others.
