Are you organised, detail-focused and looking to build a rewarding career in healthcare? We're looking for a Trainee Dispensing Assistant to join our pharmacy team at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Emersons Green. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and develop within a busy hospital pharmacy environment. You'll receive training and support while gaining hands-on experience in the ordering, dispensing and management of medicines, helping to ensure patients receive the highest standard of care.

  • Supporting the dispensing and labelling of prescriptions in line with pharmacy procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate patient medication records using pharmacy systems.
  • Ordering, receiving and managing pharmacy stock.
  • Carrying out stock checks and ensuring medicines are stored safely and appropriately.
  • Distributing medicines and stock to clinical departments across hospital sites.
  • Working closely with pharmacists, nursing staff, doctors and wider clinical teams.
  • Participating in audits, training activities and continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Completing the Dispensing Assistant training programme and developing your pharmacy knowledge and skills., We perform other duties on a day to day basis such as medicines management, in possession risk assessments, and prescription & stock management. I feel like I have developed on all of these skills since working at Practice Plus Group.

    We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
  • Good IT and keyboard skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
