Full Job Description

The Children and Young People's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT) is a service transformation programme delivered by Health Education England and partners that aims to improve existing children and young people's Mental Health Services (CAMHS) working in the community. CYP Wellbeing Practitioner training will benefit from being integrated fully within CYP MHS and linked to the CYP IAPT Collaborative, which brings a valuable organisational infrastructure.

This is a training role within the Children and Young People' Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT). The post-holder will work within a CYP MHS as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering, under supervision, high-quality; outcome -informed, focused, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing, mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, behavioural difficulties

The training and service experience will equip the post holder with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value driven service.

The post holder will attend all university based taught and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.

We are currently recruiting to new training posts to start the Postgraduate/Graduate Certificate in Evidence Based Interventions to commence January 2025., For the postgraduate level course applicants are required to have a degree or be able to demonstrate academic equivalence. For the graduate level course, applicants must be able to demonstrate they can study at this level (level 6). CYWP trainees provide low intensity interventions for anxiety, depression and conduct problems including guided self-help.

The training is provided by Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust in partnership with the University of Manchester and trainees will attend for study approximately one day a week, the remaining 4 will be service based. Trainee CYWPs are NHS pay band 4 or equivalent., Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of specialist health care to over 275,000 children and young people each year. In addition to the hospital site located in the West Derby area of Liverpool, Alder Hey has a presence in community outreach sites and, in collaboration with other providers, our clinicians help deliver care closer to patients' homes by holding local clinics at locations from Cumbria to Shropshire, in Wales and the Isle of Man. The Trust also provides inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Alder Park building in the nearby borough of Sefton.

We currently have more than 4,000 staff working across our community and hospital sites. We're also a teaching and training hospital providing education and training to around 540 medical and over 500 nursing and allied health professional students each year.
