Under supervision the post holder will provide high intensity cognitive behavioural interventions to clients who have a range of mild to moderate common mental health problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective whilst simultaneously meeting the requirements of the Post Grad CBT training course., Assess clients for suitability for psychological interventions within the stepped care model. Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the stepped care principles and protocols, and direct/signpost unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary. Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for clients. Develop communication skills in working with people to understand their personal and often very sensitive difficulties. Begin to exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of clients in line with the service and university principles. Adhere to agreed activity relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to meet the requirements of the Diploma course being undertaken. Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service and by the University. We are looking to recruit several trainee CBT Therapists. The successful applicants should have 1-2 years' experience working in a mental health setting and ideally hold a core mental health professional qualification. Applicants will be supported to apply for the Post Graduate Diploma in CBT via Keele University for the January 2027 intake. Shortlisted applicants must be available to attend academic screening mid September. Those passing academic screening will then be offered interviews with the locality team. If successful, applicants will be funded to work as trainee CBT Therapists within the Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire NHS Talking Therapies Service.,
