Full Job Description
The postholder will undertake a structured programme of academic study and supervised clinical practice to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to deliver evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy interventions. The role combines formal training with practical experience, enabling the trainee to work progressively towards qualification while providing safe, effective, and person-centred care.
Under the supervision of qualified CBT clinicians, the postholder will assess, formulate, and deliver CBT interventions to individuals experiencing common mental health difficulties, in line with national guidelines and service protocols.
The role requires a strong commitment to learning, reflective practice, and professional development. The Trainee CBT Therapist will actively engage in academic coursework, clinical supervision, and skills development activities, applying learning to practice and demonstrating ongoing progress against required competencies.
The postholder will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining clear communication with colleagues and contributing to service objectives, performance standards, and continuous improvement., Assess patients and deliver supervised CBT to support mental health recovery. This role is suitable for individuals who demonstrate resilience, emotional intelligence, and a genuine motivation to pursue a career in psychological therapies, with the ability to balance academic demands alongside clinical responsibilities.
