Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Band 7)

We have an exciting opportunity to join the haematology directorate delivering advanced clinical care to patients with Haematological cancers. The Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner post holder will work within the busy and dynamic teams covering both the inpatient and outpatient setting.The successful candidate will be highly motivated and driven to improve patient care and experience and will have significant nursing / Allied Health Professional experience within the medical and oncology setting. They will be supported to complete their MSc in advanced clinical Practice, enabling them to work autonomously in the planning, assessment and delivery of care for this complex group of patients.The candidate will need to have a high level of experience in acute care or oncology at band 6 or above and have a sound clinical knowledge, whilst also demonstrating managerial and leadership abilities. On completion of training, you will continue to be supported to become an autonomous
practitioner within the multidisciplinary team, offering support to both our nursing, AHP and junior medical colleagues.The post holder will be expected to work over 5 days per week of which 15 hours will be dedicated to academic study. Upon qualifying, the role will have a specific disease related focus and work across both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Please note that this may incorporate Weekends and Bank Holidays.The successful applicant must be able to commence in post September 2026., o Provide clinical assessment and support to the care and treatment of a diverse caseload of patients requiring haematology input and transplant.o Demonstrate a highly specialist knowledge and skills in the diagnosis and management of patients with haematological malignancies and those requiring transplant.o Demonstrate a high level of specialist knowledge and skills in the acute care and management of patients receiving SACT.o Provide medical support to the day unit and ambulatory care units as well as the inpatient ward at The Christie Foundation Trust.o Request investigations, procedures and make appropriate referrals maintaining relevant clinical records.o Non-Medical prescribing is fundamental in supporting this roleo Clinical examination skills are essential for this roleo Provide clinical expertise for developing and enhancing the haematology and transplant service.o Work alongside the medical, AHP and nursing teams, maintaining good communication and collaboration between the
various multidisciplinary teams.o To be a highly visible and approachable role model, ensuring that best practice is disseminated throughout the clinical areas.o Demonstrate a high commitment to the four pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice which includes Clinical practice, Education, Leadership and Management, and Research.
