Introduction
As a Tractor Mechanic Apprentice, you will work with experienced mechanics, learning to inspect, service, maintain and repair tractors and agricultural machinery. You will gain hands-on experience while studying for a recognised apprenticeship. Ideal for someone interested in agriculture, engineering, practical work and technical skills.

Staples Vegetables Ltd is thought to be the largest family run vegetable farm in Europe. We grow a wide range of brassicas and energy producing crops. We are a very diverse and forward thinking company with many of our team having been employed by us for many years.
What You'll Do
Working within an existing team of mechanics in our purpose built workshop. You will be required to ensure machinery is safe and fit for purpose by carrying out routine checks and the required repairs as needed.
- Assist with servicing, maintenance and repairs of tractors and agricultural machinery.
- Learn to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults.
- Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Prepare machinery for seasonal operations.
- Use workshop tools and diagnostic equipment safely and correctly.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.
- Attend college or apprenticeship training as required.
- Complete apprenticeship coursework and assessments.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Routine maintenance checks.
- Maintenance as required following checks.
- Safe working procedures.
- Learning new skills & knowledge.
