Full Job Description
The Training Programme Director for Digital Technology will support the Head of School in the Strategic Development of the School of Emergency Medicine. The post holder will lead on the development of the School's Digital Technology Strategy with a particular focus on the rapid changes and impact of Artificial Intelligence to ensure that the School of Emergency Medicine uses Digital Technology to drive standards of education in Emergency Medicine for the benefit of the patients. The post holder will be a member of the School Board. Work in collaboration with Head of School for Emergency Medicine to develop and implement a Digital Technology Strategy which supports the development of the knowledge and skills for both trainees and trainers to ensure that the rapid development of digital technology is deployed to the greatest benefit in the education of Emergency Medicine trainees, ultimately benefitting the patients we serve. NHS England has a wide range of statutory functions, responsibilities and regulatory powers. These are focused on supporting the wider NHS to deliver high quality care, as well as doing those things that are best done once for the whole NHS. Our staff bring expertise across clinical, operational, commissioning, technology, data science, cyber security, software engineering, education, and commercial specialisms - enabling us to design and deliver high-quality NHS services. In March 2025,the Government announcedthat NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care will increasingly merge functions, ultimately leading to NHS England being fully integrated into the department. - Ensure the maximum use of digital technology to efficiently streamline School processes
- Use digital technology to promote the work of the School creating space for shared learning
- Support the use of digital technology to promote communication by and between trainees, trainers and the School and support trainees who want to develop their digital skills to a higher level
- Work in collaboration with the Head of School for Emergency Medicine to develop and implement a Medical Workforce Strategy which supports the recruitment and retention of Emergency Medicine.
