Full Job Description

The Stroke ESD Team help to support people to be discharged home immediately after discharge from hospital, with evidence strongly supporting that patients improve more effectively in their home environments. ESD works to promote independence and some of the tasks you may be supporting patients with could include balance, mobility, arm function, communication, returning to everyday activities, personal care, and memory and accessing the community again as well as returning to work and hobbies.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work in our team and applicants should be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and commitment in their work. Good organisational and team-working skills are essential, as is the ability to work under pressure. The applicant will need to show excellent communication skills and a high level of compassionate care, tact and empathy whilst working with patients, families and carer, making a real difference to recovery!, The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a close multidisciplinary team alongside speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and nursing colleagues, helping to deliver therapy for each of these disciplines. They will be able to work both autonomously and jointly with colleagues. There will be many chances to develop knowledge and skills in both formal and informal settings.
The post-holder will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car. It is also essential to have some basic IT skills. Experience of working in a hospital or healthcare setting is essential.
Working Hours : 22.5 hours per week with a 1 in 6 weekend working pattern with allocated enhancements. The shifts will be 8-4 pm and 10-6pm.
Base Location: Royal Bournemouth or Poole Hospitals - base to be confirmed with successful candidate.
