Full Job Description

The assistant will encourage children and families to increase their activity levels and make healthy food and lifestyle choices.

Theywill help children engage and set small, sustainable goals to improve their health whilst they attend the 12 month Help Me To Be Healthy programme.

The role willinclude delivering group sessions remotely via MS Teams (nutrition, lifestyle and exercise), administration, some 1:1 telephone support and close liaison with the wider multidisciplinary team.

Obesity in children is multifactorial so a flexible, empathetic approach is needed to tailor support for each child and address their specific needs.

The assistant will help the wider team support ongoing changes which will ultimately enable beneficial outcomes for the children on the programme.

The service is looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping children and families.The successful applicant will have a background or interest in nutrition and/or physical activity and a natural quality improvement approach, The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
