Therapeutic Radiographer

We strive for excellence in all aspects of patient care and promote and support health and wellbeing in all our staff., As part of the team, you will be responsible for the accurate delivery of radiotherapy and the management and supervision of patients through the review, pre-treatment and treatment processes. Responsible for maintaining the highest professional standards in the care and treatment of patients undergoing radiotherapy in line with nationally and locally agreed standards. Responsible for the accurate pre and post processing of treatments / checking and interpretation of treatment plans and prescriptions. Responsible for calculation of v-sim treatments and checking correct data entry on the treatment computer. Responsible for the safe use of highly complex and expensive equipment Responsible for ensuring that junior members of staff and students are trained appropriately and follow departmental procedures.

Applicants must have a high level of technical competence, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and hardworking with a positive can-do attitude. The ability to remain calm under pressure and to integrate well with the existing teams are essential attributes of any applicants.

Hours of work may be flexible and will reflect the needs of the Service. Radiotherapy treatment is routinely delivered with shifts between 7.30am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, some shift working may be required on Service days until 8pm.
