Theatre Support Worker

The job involves a high level of cleaning, maintenance and preparation of the theatre suite, as well as the safe and timely transport of patients to and from the Operating Theatre. The use of floor buffers and scrubbing machines is a requirement of the job, as is cleaning the staff restrooms and changing rooms.,

• Assist in the collection and return of patients and their belongings to and from Theatre Department, wards, diagnostic services, post anaesthesia unit.
• Collection and replacement of medical gases, transfer of blood components, linen, beds, trolleys, theatre equipment and pharmacy deliveries
• Responsibility for environmental cleanliness.
• Inspection of patient transportation equipment. Transfer of faulty equipment to EBME.
• Dispose of clinical and non-clinical waste including dirty linen as per Trust protocols.
• Stocking and cleaning areas out of housekeeping checklist (for example storage cabinets).
• Assist in checking of the fire safety equipment in the department.
• Adhere to Trust and Departmental Policies and Procedures
• Maintain confidentiality in matters relating to patients and staff.
• Specimen transportation as required.
• Keep fluid store area clean and tidy, dispose of empty boxes.
• Deliver on-call sheets and theatre lists as required.
