Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Theatre Stores Assistant to support our busy Theatre Stores Team. If you are enthusiastic and highly motivated and would like to join us please continue reading., The postholder will work on their own initiative but as part of a team to undertake general duties within theatres relating to all resources with the department. Responsible for the co-ordination of equipment, both instrumentation, medical and surgical items, facilitate the smooth running of the theatre sessions.

The role will involve physical activities, such as manual handling, as well as an ability to use bar code readers and computers. Full training will be provided for these activities.

Liaise with HSDU staff and theatre teams to ensure that the required sterile instrument trays and supplementary items are available for use in the theatre sessions at the time required.

Ensure a good line of communication is maintained with HSDU at all times with regards to urgent items, next day sets and instruments, out of action, awaiting repair and expected dates of return to service.

To offer the highest standard of customer care to patients, visitors and other service users, adhering to Departmental guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures and the Trust's Code of Values & Behaviours.Key

We work over 7 days per week providing the service between 0700 - 2100 Monday - Friday and 0800 - 1800 Saturdays and Sundays.

Ideally you should have knowledge of previous NHS stores experience along with excellent IT skills and computerized stock management systems.

Candidates must have been educated to a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
