Full Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Band 5 Theatre Scrub Nurse/Practitioner to join our Theatre team and play a vital role in providing safe and effective care to patients undergoing surgical procedures at Homerton. This is an exciting time at Homerton, we have just opened our two new Day Surgery Theatres and have recently gotten a second Da Vinci Robot for theatres. The role will cover both Main and Day Surgery Theatre suites. We are looking for applicants who are committed and motivated to provide excellent care to the patients of City and Hackney and join part of the Multidisciplinary Team.

- To provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients by assessing care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating them without supervision.
- The role demands the flexibility of being able to work across all specialities carried out within the department.
- To be responsible for preparing the operating theatre.
- The post holder will be required to provide assistance to the surgeons during all surgical procedures whether under local or general anaesthetics
- The post holder will be required to work autonomously in the theatre areas of the Trust, providing knowledge and skills for surgery in the pre-operative setting.
- The post holder is responsible for planning, implementing and assessing care of patients.
- The post holder will ensure that standards are met as per national and local guidelines, including National Frameworks.
- The post holder will participate to all the operating theatres in the Trust and expected to take part in on call, nights on and weekend duties.
