Full Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. This support will enable the props store to have increased opening periods to better support Manchester School of Theatre students. The assistant will contribute to the smooth running of the Props area by undertaking essential practical and administrative tasks, including:

  • Supporting the hiring, adjusting, and return of props for student productions
  • Assisting with preparations ahead of assessments and A+H Degree Show activity
  • Maintaining accurate departmental records and completing data entry into relevant computer systems
  • Providing general operational support to ensure efficient workflow within the props area
  • Key Tasks
  • To work on the Connect 2 booking system to loan props to students.
  • To pick and prepare orders for collection and to return items to the shelving or rails.
  • Update the connect 2 system with new items as they come into stock.
  • Update the Technical Services Assets database.
  • Help to keep props stores tidy.
  • Note Health and Safety hazards and issues with equipment and reporting them to Technical Staff
