A Vacancy at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiasticBand 5 Theatre Practitionerto join theUrology Day Case Unitat the Royal Derby Hospital. Our unit consists oftwo operating theatres and a 15-bed ward, working closely alongside our outpatient flexible cystoscopy clinic. We provide care for patients undergoing a wide range of urological procedures, includingoutpatient treatments, day-case surgery, inpatient surgery and robotic surgery. We are proud to be a friendly, supportive and inclusive multidisciplinary team, comprising consultants, staff grade and junior doctors, advanced clinical practitioners, surgical care practitioners, operating department practitioners (ODPs), registered nurses, healthcare assistants, and reception and secretarial staff. The successful candidate will be a registered practitioner holding eitherNMC registration with an anaesthetic qualification desirable but not essentialorHCPC registration as an ODP. Working as part of the Urology Day Case theatre team, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient day-to-day running of urology operating lists, some of which are undertaken within the Surgical Theatres department. The role also includes rotation through ourFlexible Cystoscopy Clinic, where you will support the smooth running of clinics, assist clinicians during diagnostic endoscopic procedures, and contribute to delivering a high standard of patient care. As a department, we are committed to supporting the development of learners and regularly accommodate a variety of trainees and students. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to creating a positive, engaging and well-supported learning environment through effective mentorship and supervision. Flexibility and adaptability are essential for this position. The role includes participation in aweekend and Bank Holiday rotabased within Surgical Theatres. Weekday shifts may be scheduled between07:30 and 21:00, and the post includes an on-call commitment.
