Education, Leadership and Clinical Practice
o To participate as a member of the Anaesthetic/Recovery/Scrub Theatre team with extensive knowledge in the care of the peri-operative patient.o To demonstrate high standards of individual patient care with a commitment to the development of evidence-based practice.o To competently care for the peri-operative patient including the assessment, planning and evaluation of programs of care.
o Liase and integrate with the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring patients receive comprehensive care and promote a team approach to working.o Develop good working relationships and promote effective communication between all clinical grades of staff within the multi-disciplinary team.o Ensure proficiency with all medical equipment before use in accordance with the trust medical device policy.o Liase with the peri-operative teams to initiate and participate in the audit and evaluation of clinical practice and surgical products in the interest of promoting quality care.o Work with senior colleagues to formulate practice development strategies based on audit findings.o Encourage and participate in initiatives to enhance quality care.o The post holder will be proactive towards change and change management.o To promote and maintain an environment conducive to professional development.o Take responsibility for your own professional development.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, forward thinking, ODP/ Registered Nurse to work in our Surgical Theatres and Brachytherapy departments on a bank only contract. Our Oncology theatre suite specialises in Colorectal, Plastic, Urology and Gynaecology. Including robotic surgery using Da Vinci Xi Robots. This is an Adult only patient group.
Successful candidates must have experience as a theatre practitioner in at least one area, anaesthetics, recovery (including level 2 patients) or scrub and hold a valid NMC or HCPC registration. Supervisor/accessor experience is preferrable.
