Full Job Description
Join our welcoming and supportive Theatre team at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and play a vital role in delivering safe, effective surgical care. As a Theatre Equipment Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating specialist surgical equipment, loan kits, implants and consumables, ensuring everything is available and ready for patients' procedures. Working closely with theatre teams, surgeons, procurement, sterile services and external suppliers, you will help prevent delays, reduce cancellations and support efficient theatre utilisation. relevant UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) criteria, as applications that do not meet these requirements cannot be progressed., Coordinate and manage surgical loan kits, specialist equipment, implants and consumables to ensure they are available, traceable and ready for use in planned procedures. Work closely with theatre teams, Procurement, Sterile Services and external suppliers to support efficient theatre scheduling and minimise delays and cancellations. Monitor and maintain accurate records using Trust systems, ensuring compliance with traceability, decontamination and governance requirements. Identify and escalate risks relating to unavailable, delayed, incomplete or damaged equipment, taking action to reduce impact on patient safety and theatre activity. Coordinate the delivery, storage, tracking and return of loan equipment and instrument sets, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate. Produce reports, maintain audit trails and contribute to service improvement initiatives that enhance theatre efficiency, patient experience and value for money.
