Full Job Description
Clearance Required: This role will require attainment and maintenance of SC clearance We're looking for a collaborative and forward-thinking Test Manager to join our team and play a key role in delivering a critical IT application and infrastructure solution. Working alongside customers, technical specialists, and international delivery teams, you'll lead the testing and acceptance strategy across the project lifecycle. You'll be responsible for ensuring quality outcomes, managing risks, and driving successful delivery against project milestones and customer expectations. This role would suit someone who is passionate about quality assurance, enjoys solving complex challenges, and thrives in environments where collaboration and continuous improvement are valued. Whether your background is in systems integration, software delivery, or large-scale transformation programmes, we'd love to hear how your experience can help shape our success. What You'll Be Doing As a Test Manager, you w ill:
- Lead the overall test and acceptance strategy across the programme.
- Manage integration, testing, and acceptance activities throughout project delivery.
- Develop and implement scalable test approaches, including automated and manual testing solutions.
- Create and maintain test plans, test designs, procedures, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure business and technical requirements are fully covered through effective testing.
- Identify and manage testing risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and opportunities.
- Work closely with customers, suppliers, and delivery teams to provide test assurance and quality oversight.
- Collaborate with Software Developers and Data Engineers to understand system functionality and improve test coverage.
- Manage the defect lifecycle, including investigation, prioritisation, reporting, and trend analysis.
- Produce clear test reports and acceptance evidence.
- Support and mentor other testers, helping to develop capability across the team.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
We're interested in people who can demonstrate many of the following: - Experience leading test activities within complex technology, transformation, or systems integration programmes.
- Strong understanding of the software testing lifecycle and a range of test methodologies.
- Experience with both manual and automated testing appr
- Coaches, including functional, non-functional, integration, and acceptance testing.
- Experience testing integrated solutions involving third-party systems, applications, databases, and data platforms.
- Ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to understand objectives and drive successful outcomes.
- Experience taking ownership of testing delivery and quality assurance activities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- An analytical and proactive approach to problem solving.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and sharing knowledge with others. Relevant certifications, such as ISTQB, are welcomed but not essential. It Would Be Great If You Also Hav e
- Experience working on complex integration or transformation programmes with significant data requirements.
- Experience leading, coaching, or managing small teams.
- Knowledge of Air Traffic Management (ATM) environments or related domains.
- Experience implementing modern testing practices, tools, and automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud-based or modern digital platforms.
