TEMPORARY TEACHER OF MATHS This post is temporary to cover maternity leave and full-time Join Hazelwick - a popular, highly-successful and happy community where our students enjoy learning and teachers enjoy teaching, where Ofsted judged us to be outstanding in all areas (October 2023). Our shared vision is "for each and every student to achieve their maximum potential." Ofsted 'Outstanding' October 2023 Salary: £34,398 - £52,490 per annum MPR/UPR including Fringe Area Allowance Hazelwick is a high achieving and oversubscribed 11-18 mixed secondary school with over 1900 students aged 11 to 18, including over 380 students in our Sixth Form. As one of the highest performing schools in West Sussex, with a Progress 8 score of +0.30, (2024) we have an unwavering focus on enabling our students to achieve their maximum potential. - where staff love working Maths at Hazelwick Our large and thriving Maths department is a fantastic and successful team with a wide range of experience and expertise that achieved a very positive Progress 8 score in 2024. Maths is a popular KS5 option, with eight A level Maths classes, two Further Maths A level classes and two Core Maths classes. There is a great deal of support and camaraderie within the department alongside many opportunities to share resources and good practice linked to our programmes of study, with the chance to add your own interpretations For January 2027 we are looking for:
- a Maths specialist teacher who has the experience and ability to teach KS3 and KS4. The ability to teach KS5 is desirable
- a positive teacher who can enthuse, motivate and engage students and is committed to excellence and high student achievement
- a teacher with a passion for working with young people and a perseverance to make a difference to them and their future
- a teacher with a focus on their own professional development and a drive to work with us to become the best teacher they can be
- this post is temporary to cover maternity leave
- applications from ECTs are welcome, who would benefit from our highly-praised professional studies and support programme.
