As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a friendly, professional and efficient service at all times. Working as part of a large reception team, your duties will include:

  • Greeting patients and visitors and dealing with enquiries in person, by telephone and online.
  • Booking, amending and cancelling appointments.
  • Processing prescription requests and other admin.
  • Managing patient information accurately and confidentially using the clinical computer system, EMIS.
  • Signposting patients to the most appropriate service or healthcare professional.
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a busy GP practice.
  • Working closely with clinicians and colleagues to deliver a high standard of patient care and customer service.
  • This is a varied and rewarding role in a fast-paced healthcare environment where no two days are the same.

The University of Nottingham Health Service is looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover. Based at Cripps Health Centre on the beautiful University of Nottingham campus, our practice is easily accessible by public transport. Staff parking is available on site, although a parking permit is required. The role is fast-paced, particularly during university term time, and no two days are the same. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service and enjoys helping people. If you are organised, reliable, and committed to providing a high standard of service, we would love to hear from you.

At Cripps Health Centre, you'll join a welcoming and supportive team committed to delivering excellent patient care. Located on the University of Nottingham campus, we offer a varied and rewarding role, full training and development opportunities, access to University staff benefits, and the chance to work in a vibrant and diverse healthcare environment.
