We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Waltham Forest to assist with the appointment of a Temporary Accommodation Reduction Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., The Temporary Accommodation Reduction Officer role focuses on preventing homelessness by securing suitable housing solutions at the earliest opportunity and facilitating timely move-ons from temporary accommodation into sustainable private sector accommodation.,

• Provide specialist housing advice and support to customers seeking private rented accommodation.
• Match eligible customers to suitable private sector properties through available housing schemes.
• Work proactively to reduce admissions into temporary accommodation by identifying and securing appropriate housing options.
• Support customers currently in temporary accommodation to access sustainable private rented housing.
• Liaise with landlords, letting agents, and internal housing teams to secure suitable accommodation.
• Assess customers' housing needs, eligibility, and suitability for private sector schemes.
  
  Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent (or relevant professional experience)., Experience working within housing, homelessness prevention, or temporary accommodation services.
• Knowledge of homelessness legislation, housing options, and the private rented sector.
• Experience working with vulnerable customers and delivering person-centred support.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with landlords and housing providers.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise competing demand
