Telesys STP Engineer (Signal Transfer Point)

Responsible for deployment, configuration, and integration of Telesys Signal Transfer Point (STP) platforms in telecom core network environments.
- Specialize in SS7 signaling, routing optimization, and ensuring high availability of STP systems.
- Install, configure, and commission Telesys STP nodes, including point codes, linksets, routes, and Global Title Translation (GTT).
- Manage and configure SS7 signaling links (A-links, B-links, C-links).
- Prepare Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and related documentation for software upgrades and network changes.
- Integrate STP with other core network elements (MSC, HLR, SMSC, IN, signaling gateways).
- Support legacy SS7 and interworking scenarios as per customer requirements.
- Possess strong knowledge of SS7 protocol stack, including MTP (Levels 1, 2, 3), SCCP, and TCAP.
- Handle telecommunications numbering plans (E.164, E.212, E.214).
- Implement routing logic based on IMSI, MSISDN, and Global Title (GT) patterns.
- Analyze and troubleshoot signaling failures using traces, logs, and protocol-level debugging.
- Use tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump for signaling analysis.
- Optimize routing tables and manage signaling load distribution.
- Conduct health checks, capacity planning, and performance analysis to ensure system reliability.
- Understand signaling architectures for 2G/3G/4G/5G, including MAP signaling and MAP Diameter interworking.
- Familiarity with Diameter signaling in legacy to LTE/5G migration scenarios.
- Experience working with bare-metal, virtualized, and cloud (KVM, VMware, Kubernetes CNF) platforms.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for network automation and deployment.
