Full Job Description
As a Procurement Lead, you will lead on behalf of the technology category management team in establishing and managing procurement plans as well as acting as a key interface between the sectors and wider Technology Procurement Team. A core focus of the role will be collaborating with business stakeholders across a complex network with an aim of driving value through understanding technology roadmaps, business requirements and helping formulate suitable procurement strategies to drive value for the business. As the lead interface, you will represent the IPS Technology Procurement team, capturing up & coming requirements whilst helping consult with key stakeholders on governance requirements. Ultimately these roles are to help drive value by creating closer links between business groups and the wider Technology Procurement team.,
- Act as the focal point and business partner for the Software Category Manager, supporting new requirements, renewals, and connecting projects with the wider Procurement team
- Triage and manage technology demand as the entry point to the Technology Procurement team, determining the level and type of procurement support required
- Drive value through early Procurement engagement, supporting requirements definition, pipeline planning, and sharing market, supplier intelligence, and performance data
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, policies, and procedures to enable effective, low-risk, and compliant project delivery
- Develop and maintain procurement plans and continuously improve how technology procurement support is delivered, ensuring suppliers are contracted and value is maximised
Experience operating in a fast paced environment including managing complex stakeholder networks and working to deadlines - Expertise in managing technology procurement, in particular outsourced services, project services, infrastructure and hardware
- Experience in procurement and supply chain management . Ideally MCIPS Qualified or studying towards
- Experience in creating and managing procurement/sourcing plans ideally in a complex and/or technology environment
- Strong stakeholder/relationship management skills coupled with commercial acumen
- Excellent analytical abilities for evaluating supplier performance and identifying cost-saving opportunities The IPS Technology Procurement Team: This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within the Indirect Procurement technology category having exposure across multiple UK sectors and being involved in a number of exciting transformational projects, some of which are once in a generation!
