Art and Design is a vibrant and innovative area within our Creative Industries Department, offering learners access to an impressive range of specialist facilities, including:
- Ceramics Studio
- 3D Workshop
- Sculpture Room
- Printmaking Studio
- Fashion Studio
- Life Drawing Room
- Digital Photography Studio
- Traditional Darkroom As Technician in Art and Design, you will provide technical support to both lecturers and learners during timetabled sessions, helping to ensure workshops and studios operate efficiently, safely and effectively. You will demonstrate specialist techniques and processes where appropriate, supporting practical learning activities and enhancing the overall student experience. The role also includes managing materials and equipment, maintaining stock levels, preparing resources, and ensuring all specialist facilities meet health and safety requirements. What We Are Looking For
- Experience or expertise in Ceramics and related studio practices
- A practical and hands-on approach to supporting creative learning
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- An understanding of health and safety requirements within workshop and studio environments
- The ability to manage resources, materials and equipment effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work closely with technicians, lecturers and learners as part of a supportive team
