Full Job Description

Are you a technically skilled professional who enjoys combining project delivery, site work, asset management and problem solving?

We are looking for a Senior Technician, Infrastructure Management to help manage and maintain infrastructure and assets across Enfield's Parks and Open Spaces.

You will undertake inspections and surveys, develop maintenance programmes and help deliver improvement projects using a broad range of technical skills, including feasibility and option studies, design, site supervision, project management, contract administration and financial control.

You will work with a high degree of independence, managing day-to-day decisions across your projects and programmes while maintaining regular communication with senior colleagues on significant decisions relating to specifications, maintenance programmes and budgets.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing work programmes and financial estimates.

- Undertaking inspections, surveys and specialist investigations.

- Supporting the design of maintenance, improvement and new-build schemes.

- Preparing specifications and commissioning works.

- Supervising contractors and monitoring quality.

- Maintaining inspection and maintenance records.

- Managing expenditure relating to your projects.

- Communicating with residents, Members, stakeholders and other organisations.

- Supporting sustainable and innovative approaches to asset maintenance.

You will need experience developing maintenance work programmes and undertaking inspections and investigations relating to Parks and Open Spaces assets, alongside the ability to work effectively with contractors, prepare specifications and communicate technical information clearly.

An ONC/HNC in Civil Engineering or another relevant equivalent qualification, or the ability to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge and expertise, is required.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys seeing projects move from inspection and design through to delivery on the ground.

An excellent pension through the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).

- Up to 32 days annual leave depending on grade and length of service. You will also get eight public holidays per year and an extra day off at Christmas.

- A blend of remote and office based working for most roles.

- Interest free season ticket loan repayable over three or ten months.

- Career development and learning experiences from a range of training courses and learning methods.

- Employee Assistance Programme to provide advice and counselling services. This is a free and confidential service available to staff and members of their family.

- Health and leisure discounts and tax-free bikes for work.

- 1 month's paid sabbatical for registered Social Workers working in Children's Social Care.
