Are you ready to lead the delivery of cloud-based solutions used by millions of our customers every day? Domestic & General is rapidly scaling across 12 countries, protecting the appliances that keep households running and reducing waste by extending the life of everyday devices. About These Roles

As Technical Lead you will help shape the future of our technology platforms. You'll combine hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership, driving architecture, engineering standards and the delivery of scalable, cloud-based solutions. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Data and Security teams, you'll solve complex challenges, modernise our technology estate and influence decisions that support millions of customers. You'll also mentor engineers, champion best practice and help build a culture of technical excellence.

In this position, you will:

• Be aligned with one of our core market units - US, UK or Growth.


• Define technical direction and architecture across products and platforms.


• Depending on which market you are supporting, lead and mentor engineers within cross-functional teams.


• Drive delivery of high-quality, cloud-native solutions.


• Partner with Product and Technology leaders on strategic priorities.


• Balance innovation, scalability, security and resilience.


• Act as a trusted technical advisor across the business.

About You

You're an experienced software engineering leader who enjoys solving complex problems and helping teams deliver their best work. Comfortable operating from code to strategy, you can influence technical direction while staying close to delivery. You'll bring experience of:

• Leading engineering teams and delivering complex digital products.


• Architecture and technical strategy in modern technology environments.


• Technologies such as TypeScript, React, Node.js, Go or Rust.


• AWS, cloud-native platforms and Infrastructure as Code.


• Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD practices.


• Microservices, distributed systems and modern databases.


• Coaching engineers and fostering high-performing teams.


• Experience of platform modernisation, large-scale transformation or enterprise architecture would be a bonus.
