Full Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team that embodies the disruptive spirit of a start-up. With a vision of revolutionising the secured lending industry by driving innovation, enabling unparalleled speed of lending, and cultivating strong partnerships, you will have plenty of opportunity to make a real impact. The work will vary from day to day as we continually deliver improvements to our digital-first Specialist Mortgage proposition. With ambitious plans to broaden our product range and attain significant market share through a proposition that meets both brokers' and customers' needs, your role in delivering a best-in-market customer experience will be a key driver of our success. As part of the Product Team, you will work collaboratively with the wider Mortgages team. The team will have a mixed skill set, so we don't expect you to be a master of everything involved-although having a passion to learn is essential. The role will work closely with the Product Owner, who will define priorities in support of proposition delivery and growth plans. The Mortgages Technical Business Analyst role may differ from other business analyst positions you've seen. We work "through the lifecycle", so you will have the opportunity not just to shape and define changes, but also to prove and embed them-seeing your work come to life. This will involve assessing new suppliers and technologies; driving requirements for features and new product development; testing potential changes; supporting the business with adoption; and assessing broker and customer feedback. We will be able to make some simpler changes ourselves and will partner with our IT squad and suppliers for larger-scale or more technical changes. Strong analytical skills, combined with a sense of curiosity, will help you build on your existing mortgage knowledge and become a subject matter expert in our proposition and product. You'll drive ongoing improvements and support decision-making through analysis and discovery work with existing and new third parties. Comfortable leading workshops, you'll gather input from suppliers, the wider team, and other stakeholders, bringing people along with the development and delivery of changes. Responsibilities
- Undertaking research and analysis to assess issues and opportunities
- Working collaboratively with the Product, Business, and Technical teams to ensure needs are understood and delivered
- Ensuring sign-off of requirements/user stories and acceptance criteria by all relevant parties, including business stakeholders
- Supporting the development of business cases
- Acting as a liaison between wider stakeholders and the product and delivery teams
- Identifying, validating, articulating, and recommending solutions
- Process mapping
- Supporting activities beyond the traditional Business Analyst role, such as product set-up, user testing, procedural documentation, and business change support
Previous experience working in a mortgage or other secured lending environment - Experience with business and functional requirements analysis and the development of user stories
- Experience working with Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) driven implementations
- Hands-on experience with system changes and user testing
- Strong communication skills to support the successful delivery of change
- Experience supporting implementation and embedding of changes
- Ideally, experience working in fast-paced start-up or start-up-style environments where adaptability is key About You
- Adaptable, proactive, and a collaborative team member
- Motivated by the opportunity to contribute to a growing team
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and shifting contexts
- Self-motivated, committed, and quick to grasp new concepts and principles
- Skilled at building strong relationships both internally and with third-party providers
- Excited by the opportunity to help build a new proposition from the ground up
