Full Job Description
This role is open exclusively to internal colleagues who have been formally placed under consultation. Applications from other colleagues will not be considered at this stage. While we are committed to supporting colleagues during this period, applicants will still be required to demonstrate that they meet the essential criteria for the role as part of the selection process., We're looking for a detail-orientated Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Technical Corporate Services team, supporting our Logistics function. In this key role, you'll be responsible for delivering great quality and safe products for our customers by managing, analysing, and reporting technical and quality data. You'll ensure the quality of fresh produce, horticulture, meat, fish & chilled products arriving into our depots meets our specifications. The role supports in driving a quality culture across logistics sites and managing a team of Quality Assurance Analysts based across the UK. By monitoring food safety compliance across global supply chains and translating complex data into clear management information, you'll enable the Technical and Trading teams to protect customer safety, avoid brand risk, and make smart procurement decisions. What You'll Do As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you'll:
- Lead and support a team of Quality Assurance Analysts responsible for ensuring Morrisons products meet the required specification, ensuring appropriate action is taken where non-conformities are found, providing timely and accurate feedback to key stakeholders that drives continuous quality improvement.
- Ensure the QA team provides timely communication of product issues, enabling the business to protect customers and maintain product availability.
- Provide day to day coaching, guidance and operational support to drive capability, confidence and consistency.
- Collate, analyse, and report technical KPIs, customer complaints, and intake assessments on weekly, quarterly, and annual frequencies. Through trending and analysis, identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions with internal teams and suppliers.
- Provide objective, fit-for-purpose technical reports that help performance-manage suppliers and drive process and quality improvements.
- Manage governance for product specification systems to ensure accurate food safety due diligence across thousands of growers and hundreds of packing sites globally, and support Produce Technical Managers in issuing and validating QAS specifications.
- Review customer complaint trends, external and internal feedback, identifying product issues to alert teams to coordinate withdrawals or recalls when necessary - ensuring these are responded to and communicated in a timely manner.
- Develop, issue, and maintain clear, concise technical policies, standards, and procedures for internal and external stakeholders, overseeing delivery of internal and external training for Technical & Logistics teams.
- Build effective relationships across the business, influencing stakeholders (Logistics, Central, Suppliers), investigating and resolving quality & compliance issues, identifying and challenging practices that impact waste, availability and sales.
- Provide technical guidance and support operational decision-making on complex quality issues, balancing commercial, customer and food safety priorities.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen quality standards and improve operational ways of working.
- Act as the escalation point for quality concerns, providing practical solutions and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
- Champion Quality culture; building and sharing knowledge of quality, promoting product safety and compliance at all times.
- Attend relevant meetings (RDC, Central and Supplier) to review and communicate KPIs, quality performance and improvement actions.

You'll be an analytical, quality-focused technical professional with strong data management capabilities and a sharp eye for detail. You'll have: - Proven Quality Assurance background & knowledge gained in Produce / Fresh food industries and a desire to develop knowledge, passion and understanding of other fresh food categories.
- Proven experience in data management, trend analysis, IT systems, and technical reporting.
- Working knowledge of HACCP principles to support product safety and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, team management, communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to convey complex data clearly.
- Strong influencing and planning skills to keep Technical and Trading teams aligned to tight deadlines.
- The tenacity to follow up on issues, streamline processes, and reduce administrative burden.
- A strong sensory awareness (sense of taste and quality benchmark awareness) to champion customer expectations during product testing.
- A full UK driving licence for site support where required - this is a field-based role, with regular travel across the UK., Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain - farm, supplier, logistics and store.
