Full Job Description

o To provide professional, technical, operational, and clinical leadership, advising and supporting radiographic staff across the service.o To troubleshoot patient care or technical issues in designated area.o To supervise, instruct and take part in treatment delivery and image guided radiotherapy.o To be pro-active in the development and implementation of evidence based clinical practice in line with local and national initiatives, facilitating changes in service where necessary.o To act as an expert resource on treatment delivery equipment, imaging, and oncology management systems. Providing support and advice as appropriate.o To work closely with the other Superintendents and the Quality Manager, to monitor the work across the service, in order to maintain high quality service delivery and professional standards, helping to further develop and maintain the accredited Quality Management System.o In depth knowledge of UK radiation legislation IRR 1999 and IR(ME)R 2017 and to act as an
expert resource in interpretation of the legislation, with regards standard operating procedures and error reporting.o To establish and maintain good communication links between multi-disciplinary team.o Promote opportunities for team development and individual role enhancement.

We are looking for an experienced, hardworking team player to join us in the friendly Proton Beam Therapy team. We have been operational for several years, have an excellent new starter induction package and great opportunities for training and development across the service. These include encouragement for personal development alongside our specialist education team, and opportunities to attend/present at our Proton School and Digital Clinical Placements. There are many more! This position enables a high level of multidisciplinary working including close working with anaesthetics, nursing, and physics teams.

Successful applicants will have wide experience with radiotherapy equipment and treatment techniques, be highly motivated and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. We are looking for applicants with a commitment to developing themselves, the team, and the Proton Service.

HCPC registration is required.
