Full Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a skilled and experienced clinician to provide leadership and management to the Intensive Dementia Service East based in Yeovil. The Team manager should hold a professional qualification including Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social worker. You will need to have recent clinical experience at Band 6 level or above within older persons mental health care.You will be responsible for the day to day operational leadership and management of the team providing crisis services to patients with dementia or presumed dementia in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints.You will work to ensure a high standard of care and treatment for patients and to work with other members of the team and other agencies to best meet the patients health and social needs.You will play an active role in the development and review of the service in line with the Trust Strategy and Business Plan.You will provide clinical support and supervision to staff within the team and maintain active clinical involvement of up to 50% of contractual hoursMain duties of the job Provide day-to-day operational leadership and management of the Intensive Dementia Service ensuring crisis services for patients with dementia are delivered to agreed standards Maintain clinical involvement for up to 50% of contracted hours supporting the team with proactive risk assessment and management Ensure high standards of care and treatment, working collaboratively with the team and external agencies. Provide clinical supervision, support, and leadership to staff including guidance on risk assessment and management of complex patients.Oversee recruitment, appointment, supervision, appraisal, and performance management of staff, ensuring all receive appropriate training and development opportunities.Manage staff attendance, sickness, and performance in line with Trust policies.Lead or participate in clinical audits, research, and implementation of evidence-based practice.Build effective working relationships with other managers, agencies, and professionals (e.g., GPs, social care, acute hospitals).Undertake on-call manager duties, providing advice and support to junior staff and escalating issues as needed.Ensure a high standard of clinical care for all patients on the caseloadMonitor mandatory training, workforce planning, and allocation.Investigate and manage incidents and complaints, working with risk and complaints managers as needed.Promote and maintain safety, confidentiality, equality, diversity, and compliance with all Trust policies.
