Team Manager for Youth and Family

Are you a Senior Practitioner or Team Manager who is driven to work with teenagers? Does your leadership experience equip you with the skills needed to support a team working to deliver trauma informed services to secure better outcomes for vulnerable young people and their families?, You will manage one of the three Young People's Safeguarding teams including senior practitioner, social workers and youth practitioners. Our work covers a wide remit within social care practice such as S17 assessments, strategy discussions, S47 investigations, care proceedings and CP. This role could be considered for an experienced Senior Practitioner looking to step up to the next level.

What is the Young People's Safeguarding Service?

Our service, which includes our Exploitation and Missing Team, work alongside children aged 12-17 years who are assessed as being at risk from exploitation, mental health, edge of care, homelessness, substance misuse, and other risks outside the home. We are a diverse and dedicated team of professionals who provide a supportive environment for colleagues and encourage creativity in our work with young people.

We adopt a Trauma Informed approach and utilise our psychologists within the team to support our work. The voice of the child is central to all we do and we endeavour to get alongside families and utilise their family network with our support wherever possible.

You will work closely with partners from police, health, youth justice, housing and education to ensure a robust safeguarding response.

What you would bring to the role:

You have current registration with Social Work England

You are leadership experienced while still being willing to learn new things and maintain your own continuing professional development.

You have the willingness and ability to travel between locations.

You have an in-depth knowledge of the legal and policy frameworks and guidance that inform and mandate social work practice in Children's Social Care.

You are experienced in leading decision making and contributing to exceptional safeguarding practice

You adopt a trauma informed approach to your practice

Your experience and oversight in managing risk with teenagers, their families and partners is key.
