Our department is equipped with cutting-edge technology, includingVarian Halcyons, Varian TrueBeamsincl.6DoF, RGSCandSRScapability, Siemens CT GoSims,andHDRall networked byARIA.We are a multi-site centre with satellites in Swindon & Milton Keynes - 3 sites, 1 team! Join us and make a real difference in cancer care while enjoying life in one of the UK's most iconic cities!, To be primarily responsible for leading and co-ordinating the day-to-day clinical operations of the linac in accordance with the policies of the department and trust. Manage a caseload of patients, ensuring patients have accurate and consistent planning and treatment Liaising with the multidisciplinary team. Support and train members of the team to maintain and develop professional and personal skills and standards Assist the Pre-Treatment and Treatment Lead Radiographers and Radiotherapy Satellite Operational Manager in the implementation of change within the radiotherapy service. Provide expert advice on treatment procedures and treatment related side effects and their management to patients and their carers. To liaise with other disciplines to ensure total coverage in all aspects of patient care., For a detailed job description and main responsibilities, please refer to the job description document attached to this vacancy.
- oEducated to Master (radiotherapy) level or equivalent knowledge in area related to role, Participation in radiotherapy development work
- Previous NHS experience in Radiotherapy
- Relevant Band 6 Therapeutic Radiographer experience
- Team management experience, Participation in the implementation of a change in practice/new equipment
- Experience using Varian/Aria equipment
- Participation in research, oAbility to work as a member of a team, and /or autonomously
- oLeadership, organisational and decision making skills skills
- oGood interpersonal and communication skills
- . oAbility to work well within a team environment
- oKnowledge and experience of advanced and complex treatment techniques
- oKnowledge of IR(ME)R 2017 and responsibilities relating to own professional practice, oParticipation in the implementation of new equipment or technology
- oAttendance of relevant lectures/workshops/study days
- oLeadership Course attendance
